MRS CARRIE LICHIENSTEIN ENTERTAINS THE
WOMAN’S MONDAY CLUB
As a farewell compliment to the
members of the Womans Monday Club, at the closing of its activities for the
year, Mrs. Carrie Lichtenstein entertained at the House of Gifts witha
a Tropical tea from four till six o’clock, Monday afternoon.

Watson recently returned from Miami Fla. where they went as delegates to the
National Convention of Womans’ Federated Clubs. The feature of the
afternoons entertain was the grafic and intensely interesting account of the
affair. Nine hundred women were in attendance with Mrs RobertA Lawson, the
new president presiding. Mrs Lawson is a distinctive character as by birth
she is a Cherokee princess. Mrs Watson reviewed the trip over the dddx
old Trail to San Agustine Fla , then to Mimai, the winter play ground of
Multi-millionaires. The convention lasted for three days,
interspersed with every social courtesty that could be extended.
A cruise to the Empire of Islands
and on the Panama was provided and rs Lichtenstein, Watson and ˇolney
Taylor of Brownsville were among those who sailed.
TRaveling under the auspices of the
federation they were accorded every attentionat all stops, Havana, Kingston,
San Jose Christoval and Panama.
Exclusive clubs and homes were
opened for gorgeous reception as only a tropical setting could
provide. Members of the American and foreign embassies, diginitaries
of the cities and countries united to give full recognition to this
representative
Mrs Lichtenstein and Watson had an
ex___ ition many rare and beautiful purchases and curious specimens o
seeds and nuts and plants,as they termed “from the Garden of Eden.”
The tropical scheme was carried out
in the refreshments served from a handsomely appointed tabbe with
centerpiece of flaming zinnies. Shell Flammingoes were given as
favors.
The out of town guests were Mrs John
D. Cochran, Mrs Percy Johnson of Sinton,Mrs Mary Mathis of Gregory.
