A Valentine Wish for the Woman’s Monday Club
We read in old-time fairy tales
What “ wishing caps”would do,
How happy mortals, wearing them,
Found every wish came true!
If I could only borrow one
To make my wish come true,
You’d have the sweetest Valentine
That ever was -- for You!
You’d have the brightest, happiest time
All filled with mirth and glee
And find just what you’re wishing for
Right on our Anniversary.
The kind of members you love the most,
The kindly, wise and gay
Would come from near and far to make
Still merrier Valentine Day.
And I should like to think that you
Mid all the joyous glee,
Just for the sake of”Auld Lang Syne”,
Would give a thought to me.
