Celebration of
the 43rd birthday anniversary of the Woman’s Monday Club in
combination with observance of Jubilee year of the general federation was
held yesterday afternoon in the Crystal Room of the Nueces Hotel.

Scott’s welcome address opened the program over which Mrs. Sam Rankin,

for the national federation.

hostess for the affair. All members of the club signed a congratulatory
card to be sent to Mrs. Lewis, who is in San Antonio. Mrs. James Barrett

The club
valentine was impersonated by Mrs. William Gerhardt who wore a silver heart
and orchids as her head-dress, presenting an original rhyme to each member
with a small bouquet and bright colored valentine. Miss Katherine Redmond
sang “I Love You Truly” dedicated to Mrs. Lewis.
A trio composed
of Mrs. Katherine Allen, Mrs. Ned Beaudreau and Mrs. Henry Rahn played old
ballads and several modern selections during the program and social hour.
Before the
program Mrs. C. C. Stone, treasurer, reported liberal contributions to the
Jubilee fund by members of the club.

members or who joined the club during the first year. Mrs. Scott, Mrs.
Redmond, Mrs. A. M. French, Mrs. McCampbell and Mrs. George W. Westervelt of
